Feature Enhancement Suggestions for BuddyBoss Platform & App

Dear BuddyBoss Team,

We would like to propose two focused feature enhancements that would significantly improve user experience, strengthen privacy controls, and provide greater flexibility for administrators and users within the BuddyBoss environment

  1. Direct Logout Deeplink in the App
    Current Situation:
At the moment, users must navigate to Settings > Logout to log out of the app, which can be unnecessarily cumbersome.

Request:
Introduce a logout deeplink or API endpoint that allows developers to place a direct logout action anywhere in the app interface (e.g., in a menu or custom screen). This would allow users to log out with a single tap, without navigating through settings.

  1. Completely Disable Public Visibility for Activity Posts and Groups
    Current Situation:
Currently, users can select "Public" visibility when posting activity updates or creating groups, which may not be suitable for private or closed communities.

Request:
Add a setting to globally disable the “Public” visibility option for:

Activity posts

Group settings

Allow users to choose only between:

  • "Visible to my connections"

  • "Visible to me only"

For groups:

  • Completely remove the option to create “Public” groups

  • Ensure non-logged-in users receive a 404 error or access denied message when attempting to view restricted group content

Benefits:

  • Stronger platform-wide privacy control

  • Prevents accidental public sharing of content

  • Supports communities focused on security, confidentiality, or exclusivity

Request to BuddyBoss:
Would it be possible to consider these enhancements for your product roadmap or offer them as optional features in future versions of the BuddyBoss Platform and App?

We believe these additions would bring significant value to our organization.

Kind regards,
Dyon
